It is indeed a privilege to be having David Wortley, the Director of the Serious Game Institute, UK, to speak in our Seminar Series. David Wortley is responsible for the development of the Institute as a brand new self-financing initiative to establish a centre of excellence for the emerging serious game application area. The abstract of his talk is as below. His seminar is highly recommended.

Title:Immersive Experience Technologies and the Future of Learning

Abstract:

The application of technologies such as electronic games, virtual worlds and social networking is having a profound effect on many aspect of today's society. There is even evidence that the use of these technologies is creating a new generation of "Digital Natives" whose brain structures and functions are markedly different from previous generations. This presentation looks at the impact of these technologies and the likely implications for the future of learning.
