GENERAL PROGRAMME OBJECTIVES

The generic objective of this programme is to produce a competent professional, leader and individual who are able to undertake independent research, solve problems to ensure the advancement of fundamental and applied knowledge in computer science and information technology.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or the field of science and technology or related to computing, with a minimum CGPA of 3.00; OR
  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Computing or the field of science and technology or related to computing, with CGPA below 3.00 but above 2.75, can be accepted subject to rigorous internal assessment process; OR
  • A Bachelor Degree’s of Computing or in the area of science and technology or related to computing, with CGPA less than 2.50, with a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant field may be accepted; OR
  • Other equivalent qualifications approved by the Senate.
  • For international students, a minimum IELTS Score of 5.5 or its equivalent (e.g. TOEFL-525; TOEFL Computer Test -196; TOEFL Internet Test 69-70 or MUET Band 3) is required (as approved by Senate Nos. 01/2020 -186).

Entry Requirements (as approved by Senate Nos. 01/2020 -186)

  • A Bachelor degree with a minimum CGPA of 2.75 or equivalent, as accepted by the Senate; OR
  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent with at least CGPA of 2.50 and did not achieve CGPA of 2.75, may be admitted depends on rigorous internal evaluation; OR
  • A Bachelor degree or equivalent but with CGPA less than 2.50, may be admitted subject to a minimum of 5 years working experience in the relevant field.
  • Other equivalent qualifications approved by the Senate.
  • For international students, a minimum IELTS Score of 5.5 or its equivalent ( eg. TOEFL-525; TOEFL Computer Test-196; TOEFL Internet Test 69-70 or MUET Band 3) is required.

DURATION OF STUDY

The typical duration of study for a Master's degree (by research) is (2 - 4) years full-time or (3 - 6) years part-time.
