STPM / EQUIVALENTS

STPM

1. Obtain at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in the following subjects :

    Mathematics M or Mathematics T ; and 

    Any one (1) of ICT/Science-based subjects;

OR

2.  Obtain at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at STPM level in any two (2) subjects, AND

     Obtain at least a Credit (Grade C) at SPM level in one of the following:

     Additional Mathematics; or

     Mathematics and any one (1) subject in Science, Technology, or Engineering.

     Obtain at least Band 2 (Level 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations from Session 1 of 2021 onwards, or Band 2 for examinations taken up to 2020, which must still be valid at the date of application.

EQUIVALENTS

GCE A Level Entry Requirements:

Possess GCE A Level qualifications with at least Grade C in two (2) of the following subjects:

Mathematics; and

Further Mathematics / Statistics / Computer Science / Science

AND

Achieve a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent, such as:

MUET Band 3.5

TOEFL iBT 35

TOEFL Essential (Online) 7.5

Pearson Test of English 47

Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests 154.

International Baccalaureate (IB) Entry Requirements:

Pass the International Baccalaureate (IB) with a minimum total score of 26 and obtain at least score 4 in two (2) of the following subjects at Higher Level (HL) or Standard Level (SL):

Mathematics

Science

AND

Achieve a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent, such as:

MUET Band 3.5

TOEFL iBT 35

TOEFL Essential (Online) 7.5

Pearson Test of English 47

Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests 154.

Australian Matriculation (AUSMAT) Entry Requirements:

Possess Australian Matriculation Programme (AUSMAT) qualifications with at least Grade C in two (2) of the following subjects:

Mathematics

Science

AND

Achieve a minimum IELTS score of 5.0 or its equivalent, such as:

MUET Band 3.5

TOEFL iBT 35

TOEFL Essential (Online) 7.5

Pearson Test of English 47

Cambridge English Qualifications and Tests 154.

MATRICULATION / FOUNDATION

Obtain at least Grade C (NGMP 2.00) at the Matriculation / Foundation level, AND

Obtain at least a Credit (Grade C) at SPM level in one of the following subjects:

Additional Mathematics; or

Mathematics and any one (1) subject in Science, Technology, or Engineering.

Obtain at least Band 2 (Level 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations from Session 1 of 2021 onwards, or Band 2 for examinations taken up to 2020, which must still be valid at the date of application.

DIPLOMA

Applicants must submit academic transcripts from the first semester until the final semester, AND

Possess one of the following qualifications:

A Diploma in Computing with a minimum CGPA of 2.50;

OR

A Diploma in Science and Technology or other equivalent qualifications recognized by the UNIMAS Senate with a minimum CGPA of 2.75.

Obtain at least Band 2 (Level 2) in the Malaysian University English Test (MUET) for examinations from Session 1 of 2021 onwards, or Band 2 for examinations taken up to 2020, which must still be valid at the date of application.

Student can apply for a loan/scholarship/sponsorship from various organizations namely Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam Malaysia (JPA), Majlis Amanah Rakyat (MARA), Perbadanan Tabung Pendidikan Tinggi Nasional Malaysia (PTPTN), state government, statutory bodies and the private sectors. Details can be obtained directly from the respective establishment mentioned. Advertisements for the offer of loan/scholarship/sponsorship will usually be advertised in local newspaper.

Student who has obtained a loan/scholarship/sponsorship for their studies at the University, they need to submit a copy of the loan’s/scholarship’s/sponsorship’s letter of offer on the registration day.

To assist students, the Student Affairs, Alumni Division (Undergraduate Student) and the Centre of Graduate Studies (Postgraduate Student) will contact the loan/scholarship/sponsorship representative from time to time for sources of aid.

This unit is responsible for assisting students during orientation week in matters pertaining to loans, scholarship or sponsorship. It acts as an intermediary that disseminates information on loans and sponsorships to new students, and supports students in obtaining them during their study period in UNIMAS by way of :-

• Giving information concerning applicable loan/scholarship/sponsorship
• Assisting students with documentations to ensure smooth application progress

Main functions:

• Organising meeting sessions for both sponsors and sponsored students from time to time
• Coordinating activities organised by sponsors for sponsored students
• Providing sponsors with student progress reports of each semester for payment purposes

For local students, you are required to fill the online UPU application. Intake is once a year - October. For International Students, you are required to fill the online form at CGSWeb. Please complete the form before the due date stated in the UNIMAS Intake Calendar.
