MIDSEA Summer School 2026
5 DAY | 8 - 12 JUNE 2026
FCSIT, UNIMAS
The MIDSEA Network is a consortium of people working in the area of modelling (M) infectious (I) diseases (D) in South (S) East (E) Asia (A). The network exists to bring together modellers, broadly defined, from our region to share ideas, learn from each other, and contribute to controlling outbreaks in Southeast Asia through our research
Building on the success of previous summer schools in Quy Nhon, Vietnam (2024) and Yogyakarta, Indonesia (2025), the MIDSEA Summer School returns for 2026 in partnership with Universiti Malaysia Sarawak (UNIMAS).
This 5-day workshop brings together the next generation of infectious disease modelers in the heart of Borneo. Designed for graduate students, researchers, and public health officers, the curriculum bridges the gap between theoretical mathematics and real-world outbreak control.
Why Attend?
- Choose from parallel tracks designed for your skill level, including Fundamentals of Modeling (101), Simulation, Modeling Intervention, and AI.
- Active networking with the growing community of regional experts to share ideas, find collaborators, and contribute to strengthening Southeast Asia’s pandemic preparedness.
The event will be held at the Faculty of Computer Science and Information Technology, UNIMAS. Affordable accommodation options near campus are available for participants.
The summer school will run from June 8th to June 12, 2026. Below is the detailed schedule with parallel tracks:
