Social Informatics

Overview
The Social Informatics Group (SIG) is an interdisciplinary research group concerned with the social aspects of computerisation, and how these aspects can be leveraged to produce human-centered systems that can benefit the society towards becoming a society that is thriving economically and knowledge-driven, while also being socially inclusive. Social informatics refers  to an interdisciplinary study of design, uses, and effects of  information and communication technologies (ICTs) that takes into account their interaction with institution and cultural contexts.
